Psychotropics are medications that primarily impact the brain and nervous system. Some examples of psychotropic medications are antidepressants and antipsychotics. 

A psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner  (PMHNP) is a nurse practitioner who has special training in psychiatry and  mental illness. The BC stands for board certification. 

A DNP is the terminal degree in nursing, no higher level of education can be reached in that field. 

Psychiatry is a specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behaviour, cognition, and perceptions.
